Blocks & Blooms 2024 is an event you won’t want to miss! I have offered my support to our fearless team of volunteers that make up the Millbrook Cavan Historical Society to bring the return of this event (last held June 2018)! This event includes something for the history buff, quilt enthusiast and gardener and provides a remarkable day, wherein we showcase our heritage, community and local businesses. We even have a few of our hosts that will doing indoor tours of their historically significant homes!
Tickets will be available beginning mid April, from three local retailers (cash only):
Moody’s Bar and Grill in Millbrook,
Holton Flowers in Port Hope and
Avant-Garden Shop in Peterborough
You can also get them online from the Historical Society’s website, once they are available.
Tickets are $20 each and it provides you with access to all 18 of our fabulous properties. The tickets are a booklet - with some information on what you can expect at each shop and some details about the day regarding dining, washrooms and more!

Pastry Peddler Cafe - 17 King St E Millbrook
Pastry Peddler has been a local favourite for more than 15 years! With a menu full of delectable and complex flavours you can find something truly memorable from their fabulous menu! The Peddler Club, Winslow sandwich and butter chicken nachos are all some menu items that have stood the test of time - and for great reason! This is also the destination for your artisan coffees and teas to take on the tour with you.
Millbrook Mercantile - 28 King St E Millbrook
Millbrook Mercantile is cheese shop, with a deli that is to die for! Enjoy a sandwich, customized charcuterie board, house made soup and more, from the comfort of their sidewalk patio. Beautiful gifts and locally made meals to take home are in abundance as well!
The Mill - 11 Tupper St Millbrook
This new addition to our community and dining options is fantastic! Offering breakfast and lunch in a newly renovated, and luxurious space.
Millbrook Pizza - 13 Tupper St Millbrook
Millbrook Pizza is an independently owned pizza shop that specializes in Traditional style pizza and panzerottis (Mr QB’s favourite!). They also offer Ceaser salad, garlic bread, torpedo’s and wings!
